Principle

  • Take turns in knocking down numbered pins with the Mölkky.
  • After each throw, the pins are stood up again in the location where they landed.
  • The first player to reach exactly 50 points wins the game.

What is the difference between finska and Mölkky?

While the rules and scoring are the same in both games, the only noticeable difference between Finska and Molkky is in the layout of the pins. Both have a specific formation, but the latter has the pins in a different order to the former.

How many players is Mölkky?

The official Mölkky rules allow for up to 26 players per game, so invite all of your friends to play! Players earn points by tossing the throwing pin. If a player knocks down more than 1 pin, their score for that turn is the number of pins they knocked down (4 pins = 4 points).

How do you make a Mölkky yard game?

With a pencil, mark a 7-foot length of 2 1/4-inch dowel (or tree branch or trunk) every twelve inches. Using a saw and a miter box, make a straight, 90-degree cut at each mark. Set aside one 12-inch length to act as the throwing pin (or Mölkky®). Sand all cut edges of wood until smooth.
