Why is Dartmouth College So Expensive?

In the past two decades average tuition has more than doubled—after adjustment for inflation. In 1994 Dartmouth tuition, room and board, and mandatory fees cost about $26,000. Healthcare costs and salaries are rising too—and hiring at the College has shot up more than enrollment.
