What is the difference between knowledge skills and understanding?

The usual dictionary definition of ‘knowledge’ is a ‘familiarity with something or someone’, which can include information, facts, descriptions or skills. As it is understanding which allows knowledge to be put to use, ‘understanding’ represents a deeper level than ‘knowledge’.

Knowledge is the theoretical or practical understanding of a subject. It means they know the model. Skills are the proficiencies developed through training or experience. Using the ADDIE example, the employee has demonstrated skills in applying the ADDIE model when designing training programs.

      What’s the difference between knowledge and experience?
