What do ipsea do?

What does IPSEA do? IPSEA advises families whose children have all types of SEN / disability, including behavioural problems, communication difficulties, learning disabilities and autism. IPSEA often helps families before their child has even been diagnosed.

What is a special ed provider?

Special education and related services are provided in public schools at no cost to the parents and can include special instruction in the classroom, at home, in hospitals or institutions, or in other settings. This definition of special education comes from IDEA, the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act.

What is the role of Sendiass?

The SENDIAS service provides information advice and support to parents and young people regarding special education need.

Who gets an EHC plan?

An education, health and care ( EHC ) plan is for children and young people aged up to 25 who need more support than is available through special educational needs support. EHC plans identify educational, health and social needs and set out the additional support to meet those needs.

How can I get an Ehcp?

Applying for an EHC plan. Any parent can request an EHC assessment for their child, but a doctor, health visitor, school staff member or nursery workers can also request it. Once you’ve made your request to the Local Authority, they have six weeks to decide whether or not to carry out an EHC assessment.

What is a Echp?

An EHCP outlines any special educational needs that your child has. It also covers the support your local authority must put in place to help your child: The EHCP is a legal document. That means your local authority has a legal obligation to provide the support in the plan.

Can Ipsea give Me legal advice on my tribunal case?

If your tribunal case is being prepared by a solicitor or other advocate then regrettably IPSEA are unable to give you advice. This is to avoid the potential for conflicting advice, and to ensure our appointments are available for parents not receiving any other support.
