What age should you start learning aerial silks?

No dance, flexibility, or gymnastic background is necessary. Age 6-12. Kids will learn over 150 different moves on the Silks, Hoop, and Still Trapeze. Students advance at their own pace, some students can be in Level 1 for a couple of years, some for only a couple of months.

How old do you have to be to do trapeze?

We offer beginner through advanced flying classes that are appropriate for adults and children 7 years of age and older. We recognize that everyone has the ability to participate in our activities, regardless of size, ability, previous experience, or strength.

Do you need to be flexible to do trapeze?

You don’t have to be super flexible, either. Full splits look pretty, but you 100% do not need to have them to come to aerial class. (I’m still working on getting mine!) If you can’t touch your toes or do a backbend, you can still do aerial. It’s all about starting where you are and working toward where you want to be.

Can adults learn aerial silks?

Adult class description:All experience levels and abilities are welcome to attend aerial class. However, doing aerial is a very strenuous physical activity. Be prepared for a large full body workout, to invert upside down, and to also have fun gaining strength and learning skills!

Is there a weight limit for trapeze?

If flying trapeze isn’t the right place for you to start, our staff will be happy to suggest other options to help you achieve your goals. 1. WEIGHT. 205lbs is what we call the weight hesitation.

Is aerial dance hard?

Learning aerials is incredibly hard. A skilled aerialist will make everything they do look easy–that’s their job. However that can make it confusing for you the student, because everything feels hard. That’s just how it is.

What does hep mean in trapeze?

LISTO: Means ready in Spanish. HEP: GO!!! BOARD: Platform that the flyer takes off from.

Can fat people do aerial?

The beautiful thing about Aerial Yoga is anyone REALLY can do it. No matter your age, weight, fitness level, etc. You have a silk apparatus there to hold on to, and workouts can be modified for your fitness level.

How do you use the Flying Trapeze?

You’ll hang by your knees on a stationary bar, then proceed up the ladder to the flying trapeze! After practicing a knee hang position for execution and timing, you may even be ready by the end of the class to attempt a catch with our catcher… and this is just the beginning! We are excited to say that we are catching again!

How much are private lessons at trapeze arts?

$35 per class. Monthly tuition is due on the first of each month and will be charged to your credit card on file at Trapeze Arts. Private lessons are available in Aerial, Trampoline, and Flying Trapeze at all levels. Click here for pricing.
