Does Reg Z cover student loans?

student loans… private education loans, to be exact. Sections 1026.46-48 of Reg. Z impose requirements on lenders for private education loans, including disclosure of terms and interest rates. It also imposes requirements on lenders regarding advertisement of these terms.

Can private student loans be discharged in Chapter 7?

It appears as though the courts will eventually answer this question, unless Congress acts first. However, until that happens, the bankruptcy code allows for private student loans to be discharged in bankruptcy only if borrowers can meet the undue hardship standard.

Does Chapter 13 include student loans?
